Hi,
I’m just importing some older Sibelius files with figured bass. After that the figured bass is shown as “normal” text in dorico. Is it possible to mark the figured bass an change the text-style to Doricos figured bass.
I had some trials but could not find a solution.
Regards, Michael
Using Dorico 5, latest version
If you want to set up a Paragraph Style for bass figures, and just change the text to that Paragraph Style, then yes, that’s easy to do:
Just right-click, select “Text”, and “Change Paragraph Style”.
However, it’s not possible to “convert” text objects to Dorico’s actual bass figures, which are “more than text”. You’ll have to re-type it.

Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, I mean the 2nd option you mentioned. Then I have to bite the bullet.

I have done this quite a lot with old Finale files (where I used chord suffixes for bass figures!!).
Using the popover, you can type each figure, and press Space or right arrow to move along the staff. It actually doesn’t take long at all.
Yes. Just asked, not to overlook a faster solution.
Thanks so far.
