Change the audio of an instrument

As you can see from the image, I’m transcribing a manuscript that features two G trumpets. We know that Dorico doesn’t have a G trumpet, so I had to create one by modifying an A trumpet.

What I don’t understand, and don’t know how to fix, is that the audio corresponds to a piano and not a trumpet.

How do I change the audio from piano to trumpet?

I hope I explained clearly.

Thank you.

Did you re-apply the playback template? If you just changed the transposition (and likely the range) the instrument is supposed to be routed to the proper VST instrument automatically.

If not go to Play Mode, select the track, select Track Inspector, click on the e and assign an instrument. That’s the basic procedure, of course it depends on the sample library you’re using.

Yes, but it doesn’t work.

As you are using NotePerformer try my second suggestion.
When you click on the e a NotePerformer mixer window will open. In the corresponding column of the MIDI channel assign the trumpets by clicking on the instrument name.

I’m sorry to bother you, but I need you to show me with an image where I need to select. Unfortunately, I don’t speak English and I’m forced to use Google Translate, which translates very poorly and is almost incomprehensible.

Is that what you mean?

Si, esattamente (yes, exactly)

Thank you so much, because it’s something I’d never thought of and was trying to find a solution within Dorico instead.

Thank you, thank you…
