Hello, all.
I can’t find any information on how to set the separation of fanned beams as a default setting in Dorico. Am I missing something, or is this impossible to do?
I think the separation of fanned beams that Dorico provides it is too narrow. So I’ve been widening it for every instance of fanned beams in my piece – a rather tedious chore. A way to change the default setting would be marvelous!
And while I’m at it, a prettier version of changing the direction of fanned beams would be nice, too. I gave up on using that particular function of Dorico because I don’t like the way it looks (one beam flat and the other one at an angle). I’ve been separating the change of direction into two separate beam groups (not ideal but I think it looks better than having one side of a fanned beam get flattened out). I see that importing “feathered beams” from a different program allows them to change directions elegantly, but I don’t really want to get into all that. If anyone has discovered a better way of accomplishing good looking fanned beams other than what I’ve discussed here please let me know.
Thanks!
