Changed Instrument not playing

I created a project for a brass quintet. I then changed the French Horn to Trumpet (3) and later changed Trumpet 3 to Flugelhorn. When I play the piece, the Flugel part does not play.

I then went to the Sonic screen and noticed the Horn player is still there but not playing and there is an unkown instrument in #7 that is blinking but nothing is listed for that instrument. Do you have any idea what is happening:

Have you checked which channel that instrument is routed to in the track inspector?

@David_Johns you can try with this option:

I tried loading sounds for unassigned instruments. It did nothing.
It seems the instrument is assigned to channel 7. No instrument is assigned to that channel.

@David_Johns Can you share the Dorico File to see what happens?

Semper Supra Brass Quintet.dorico (1.6 MB)

@David_Johns here your file corrected:

Semper Supra Brass Quintet CORRECTED.dorico (1.5 MB)

as @DanielMuzMurray suggested: you had incorrect channel routing (just put the flugelhorn track, on ch. 3 in Dorico Track inspector), I also reduced the midi channels to 5 in the Endpoint Setup, and deleted the extra trumpet in Halion on channel 6.
Also Iconica Sketch doesn’t have a flugelhorn (as far as I know), so on channel 3 you hear now a normal horn. Maybe this caused the issue, as Dorico didn’t know to witch vst instrument to assign it (?) and created extra empty slots…

[EDIT: I tried again and, when I add a new player with flugelhorn, Dorico creates correctly a new slot with Trumpet Combi from HSO Library]

I suggest you save your settings as Playback Template that you can reassign in case something goes wrong again.

I suggest this video, in case you don’t saw it yet:

Thanks for your help. I’m noticing more issues than I have had in the past. In the future, I hope the developers can catch stuff before we find it. However, you guys are really good about helping us out when we find something.

witch issue/s are you referring to, exactly? (See also my Edit in my previous post.)

If one adds an instrument to an existing set, it is always wise to re-apply the Playback Template if sounds are missing, even if one needs to reassign individual sounds to different VST’s later.

Yesterday, I received a message that an Alto Sax part had the right chords but the notes were in the wrong key. I had copied the notes and chords from a Vocal part I renamed to ‘Keys’. I don’t know why this particular chart had an error when the other parts I created in different files did not.
Printing the Flugelhorn part in the project I uploaded also caused a problem I should have mentioned. The printer asked for a different paper and when I told it to use the paper in the printer, the part printed at about 50% smaller on the page. I had already saved it as a PDF, so I printed that to replace the much smaller version. If you still have that file, see what happens if you print the Flugel part to a printer.
A few days earlier, I was editing a text box in Engrave mode and did not click outside the box before saving. My changes were not saved.
These kinds of things are easy to fix and I’m usually in a hurry to get things done. However, when I have time and something like this happens, I will report it.
The reason for my comment is that all these issues happened in the last few days.
