Changes to instrument definition lead to Halion populating a new instrument slot

I’m trying to adjust an instrument definition for a Halion instrument (Tales), but every time I make a change and hit OK Halion populates the next free instrument slot with a default piano instrument and routes my instrument to this slot.
Can somebody tell me how I can stop this?

Applying the Silence playback template will stop Dorico from auto-loading/routing anything but then you are left to manually load VSTs etc.

OK, thanks. That a solution for the time of frequent changes to an instrument definition. Will try that.
