Changing Default Settings for all flows, including new ones

I love Dorico, and I love the ability to change the default settings in a flow with the ease of the libraries, but ever since I bought Dorico (All the way back with Dorico 3.5 or something like that), I have wanted a way to change the settings that Dorico defaults to for ALL of Dorico, including any new scores I start. There are settings I will change for every single score, and if I could just change it once in some main menu of Dorico, that would be amazing. For instance, I hate when single measures of rest have the number “1” above them, as if they are a multi-measure rest, so I change that setting every time. I wish there was a way to change it just once for all of Dorico.

Every composer and arranger has different preferences, which is wonderful. It seems like this function would be amazingly helpful for so many people, and would ultimately save a LOT of time. It also feels like it wouldn’t be too difficult to implement, but that is coming from someone with little to no coding knowledge, so please forgive me if I am suggesting making a molehill out of a mountain here.

Will this functionality come in the future? (Or is it currently here and I’m just oblivious?)

Thank you

Each of the options dialogs has a Save as Default button. If you start a new project, adjust options the way you want them, and then click Save as Default in each dialog (primarily Layout Options, Engraving Options, and Engraving Options), then those settings will be used for new projects you create.

You could also set up a new project the way you want it and then save that as a project template. Then you could to New From Project Template to start a new project based on it.

Well then I am silly. I will say though, it would be super easy if you just went into the libraries from the menu in the initial pop up menu when you start Dorico. The place where you pick a score to work on. Those buttons are there, but they are grayed out.

Anyway, thank you for your help
