I am using Dorico 5.1, and entering a work largely with single staff for solo cello. In one short movement, I use an “ossia” throughout, which is also with single staff. However, in mid-movement, I change briefly to using a double staff (treble/bass) for the original cello part.
How can I switch the ossia at this point likewise to a parallel double staff? While I can add the extra regular staff (to make double = treble/bass), the ossia remains in single staff. My attempts to augment the ossia with another staff (“add staff below”, etc.) make a mess.
The flow is a movement for solo cello. The original line (in blue) has quadruple stops, the “ossia” below (in brown, with staff label “to be played”) indicates the desired rhythmic realization of the original.
Later in the piece, the original solo line requires 2 staves to represent = treble/bass. I would like the corresponding “to be played” (ossia) to also
I am not sure this can be done. I see in the Dorico manual that ossias with 2 staves are only possible for “grand staff instruments” – which the cello apparently is not.
