Changing instrument sample range in Noteperformer

Quick question,

I’m looking at my xylo part and it seems like it’s written one octave too high for what I’m hearing. A solution would be to transpose the entire part down 8vb, but then the part won’t sound quite correct. Has anyone else found this issue? If so, how can I alter the noteperformer sounding range?

Hi @Dilorenzo here two possible places (one as instrument definition, one as layout override: both reachable from the Setup mode) where you can influence the transposition of the instruments in Dorico. Maybe you can experiment with some of this settings possibilities depending of what you need…

the xylophone should be notated one octave lower than it sounds . This is set up correctly by default in the instrument definition as in the screenshot below and certainly in my scores using NotePerfomer is correct. Could you be more specific about the problem – perhaps attach a sample score?
