I regularly find that the tempo markings on all my scores are too small (*edit), and for a while I was just going to the properties panel and increasing the Custom Scale to 150%. But since this seems to affect every score I do, I wanted to learn how to change it globally.
I went to Font Styles > Metronome Text Font, and made changes there, but they don’t reflect in my score. Am I missing something? Is this the wrong place to be changing this parameter?

I’m a little confused by this – if the tempo markings are too big, why are you making them bigger? Did you mean that they’re too small?
If you want to change the appearance of tempo markings like this, there are three font styles you need to look at:
Edit: Note that there’s a fourth style, “Gradual Tempo Text Font” for tempo marks like “rit.” and “accel.”
Thank you! It’s a little annoying I’ve got to update four different settings, but at least I’ve got consistency across the large score now.
(BTW - yes typo - I meant to say the default tempo markings are all too small, and I want to make them bigger.)
