Hi everyone. I just bought a new Mac. I want to upgrade from Cubase 12 to 13. I also have to go from the elicenser to the ID based Steinberg licensing system. In what order do I do things? Do I have to buy the upgrade on the old computer since it still has USB1 ports and it can fit my old blue elicenser toggle? I’m old school and English is not my first language. Can someone clarify the procedure for me? thanks in advance!
just realized the word is dongle and not toggle…
Cubase 12 is already using the Steinberg Licensing system, not eLicenser. You shouldn’t need the USB dongle at all to perform the update.
Hi, sorry for the late reply. Thank you for your response. So I tried to open Cubase 12 on my old mac without the dongle. You’re right, It opened but I had a messagetellung me that “The Grand” caused the error : no valid license. That’s where I got confused the last time. And so I tought I needed to do some tranfering procedure to get to the ID based system. Now my updates are done and your answer pushed me to do my homeworks and read the notifications correctly!
