Changing my Drive C to a new SSD - Do I need to FIRST deactivate all my PC based licences?

Hi!

I plan to add a new SSD, which will be my Drive C after installation to host programs like Cubase and Steinber VST’s:

  1. Do I need to deactivate my “PC based” licenses of my Steinberg VST’s and applications on the “Steinberg Activation Manager” before I format the current Drive C?

  2. Is it possible to deactivate licenses on the PC (Current Drive C) that is, for example formatted, 100% disk cleaned or even unfortunately stolen? Meaning licenses do not need your PC to be deactivated, do they?
    Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, it’s better to do so beforehand.

The Steinebrg support can remove all computers if something like this happens. Then you can use the seats with the new drive/computer.

In MySteinberg, you can:

No need for Support Here, see the Posting from @ASM . You can simply do that yourself.
