In a group of four eighth notes I would like the first of these to have a white notehead (half note head). It is very easy to get triangle or other strange noteheads, but I could not find out, how to get the desired one….
There might be other solutions, but you could create a Notehead Set with half notes noteheads:
Otherwise you can enter an unison in another voice.

Hi @SiggiM, beside the suggestion by @charles_piano, you could also write that note in another voice, then hide its stem and set its Voice column index to 0: (in Engrave mode)
[Edit, I saw that @charles_piano wrote the same suggestion at the end of his previous reply]

I was just adding this!

Surely the simplest route is to add a minim in a second voice, allow overlapping noteheads and hide the stem…

(Oops, just saw @Christian_R suggested something very similar)

Thanks to you and the other contributors. Indeed, I had not realised so far that stems could be hidden (had never needed that before).
