Changing Percussion Map with Noteperformer 5

Hello all,

I cannot for the life of me figure out what’s going on here.

I’m using Noteperformer 5 and the latest version of Dorico 6.

I’ve added a Finger Snap player and noticed that Noteperformer was adding a Conga instrument in the Noteperformer mixer and playing back as a conga. When highlighting the note it showed that it’s C-1, MIDI Note 0, in Up-stem voice 1.

I figured I could create a new percussion map for this player, where it triggers a Wood Block (medium) on note C-1.

Now Dorico adds a two instruments in the noteperformer mixer. One for Orchestral Percussion and the other the Congas.

It still plays back as congas, even when switching the channel in the mixer, noteperformer changes the channel strip from orchestral percussion to congas.

I don’t care if a finger snap sound is not directly accessible through noteperformer and I’m okay with an approximation (wood block) but I cannot continue this project hearing a conga drum.

I have no idea how to change it.

Any help?

More cowbell?

Try creating a one-line woodblock in setup. I chose the high woodblock from NP. Once you have the right sound, you can incorporate it into the rest of the percussion, either as a separate instrument or as an imported member of a kit.

But if you have not already reapplied the Playback Template from the Play menu, try that first.
