Yes lol sorry mate . When you get to a commer stop ,pause and take a breath ,pretend it was a full stop, count to ten have a sip of coffee ,if you are on Cubase which would be best . Do each step at a time .
I fai to see how any of this has to do with assigning a new project folder path.
You will get a dialog. Cubase will ask you whether you want to keep the old project folder or make the current location of the .cpr your new project folder (project working directory).
This will, however, not move audio files that were already in the Pool. It will only set a new location for future audio recordings/bounces.
It will only set a new location for future audio recordings/bounces.
That’s correct.
Once upon a time, I would mix on a separate machine, from that which I record to (and program on) so the media/Audio folder, had to be in the same OS folder on the hard drive, which meant it was always the same file structure (and still is, even on my new machine).
I have never needed to use Backup Media, or any archive functions of the DAW. I simply keep a tidy folder and file system, the Media Pool does the rest, but I do understand the feature, where there are disparate media and files and things going missing.
Cheers
I told him to copy his original project folder and paste it to the new location of his choice . Open Cubase go to menu/file/open, browse to the project folder in the new location click the CPR , project will now open in Cubase press save and that’s it ,done .
His original project folder will still be there in the original place .so he can either delete it or leave it there as an old original backup.
I am not on Cubase at the moment so I’m telling you this from memory
