I’m afraid I don’t understand the instructions for this in the manual, and I couldn’t find the answer in the forums. How do I change the default beaming of the 5/4 time signature so that it always beams according to [1+1+1+1+1]/4?
You can’t. You type [1+1+1+1+1]/4 wherever you need that behaviour.
Bear in mind that once you’ve done it once in a flow, 5/4 will appear in the “Used in this flow” area of the Meters section of the right panel. If you drag and drop from there to anywhere in your score, the [1+1+1+1+1]/4 Will be retained. Also once there’s one in place, you can Alt-click or copy and paste it to anywhere else.
