Changing the effect of the Escape key?

Hi all,

When I’m editing something, say a text item or the figured bass in a popover, and I press Escape, the edit is committed, just like pressing Enter or clicking outside the editing area. I’d love to use the Escape key, instead, as a way of saying, “Oh, wait, no, I didn’t mean that. Exit this editing action and revert all edits, leaving the item as it was before I double-clicked it.” Is there a way to do this?

No. And note that in the case of text items, Enter can’t be used to commit the edit as text items can have line breaks. Cmd/Ctrl-Z can always be used after the fact, of course.

Right. Thanks for setting the record straight! Keep traveling by rail, everybody.
