I learned now to make noteheads larger through notehead sets. I use the larger heads to indicate the melody. I now have the situation where one melody note is sustained under another.
How might I enlarge the first head of a tied note and not the second?
In this example the downstem note before the barline and the upstem note after the barline are the melody. The upstem head has already been made larger, the downstem head hasn’t yet, because the downstem head after the barline would also be made larger.
Thanks for your solution, Lillie _Harris - but in Engrave mode I have been able to change the notehead of an individual note in a tie change via right-click on that note, but I cannot seem to figure out how to scale the size of an individual note in a tie chain in Engrave mode. Could you elaborate? Thanks.
I have a similar situation, and as a solution I have made a separate notehead type in Library/Notehead Sets, based on Default, with appropriately scaled noteheads, called Default Notehead (small). I set the entire chain to Default Notehead (small) in Write Mode then in Engrave mode change the first notehead appropriately. This works, with a small proviso, in my implementation, when I want to reset the notehead throughout the entire chain, I need to choose “Reset to default notehead”, rather than just choosing “Default Notehead”, for some reason.
