Changing value of several automation points at once in Cubase 12

Hi there. I’ve recently purchased Cubase 12 Pro and I’ve run into a problem. I have a volume automation track and I want to select all of the automation points and lower the value of all the points by 1 dB. However, it seems that this is locked in some way. The value in the information lane in the top left is orange. I can change the value of one automation point, but not several points at once. I was able to do this in an earlier version of Cubase. I must be missing something. The automation track is not locked.

I’m sorry if this issue has been resolved before. I’ve looked and couldn’t find the answer I was looking for.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

This means multiple events had become selected. Then the chance is relative. So you can see the value of the 1st (most left-top) event. Of you change it by 1dB and press Enter, ale selected events will follow (by 1dB). If you would press hold Ctrl/Cmd whole pressing Enter, you would switch to the absolute value, so all the events would get the value.

Thanks for your reply. The strange thing is that every time I change the value and press enter, the value immediately jumps back to what it was before, even though the automation track is not locked.

Hi,

That is indeed strange…

Could you try in Cubase Safe Start Mode [Disable Preferences], please?

I found out what the problem was. I had two automation points down at -∞ dB and Cubase couldn’t move those points any lower. When I made the selection excluding those two points, I was able to change the value.

Thanks for your time!
