Is there any reason that this should happen, i.e. why can not the instrument be changed without changing its’ order in the VST Rack?
In other words “changing” a VST Instrument on the rack merely removes it from the list along with all of its’ outputs and re-instances a new plugin, which is not really the behavior I’d hope for or expect.
For example, in VEP I can re-order instruments in Cubase I cannot.
