Choose video export size or codec to make smaller file sizes

Please!! I send 3-5 video clips of cues a day. The file sizes are just too big and annoying to work with, I have to use an external program to reduce the size EACH time and it takes ages.

Hi Jonathan, just to clarify, we have a feature in the VIDEO EXPORT section in Nuendo called “REPLACE AUDIO IN VIDEO.” I’m not sure if it’s available in Cubase, but if it is, the feature simply replaces the audio in the video, so the video remains in the same format and size. You can also select more than one video and batch export them all at once.

However, if you have several versions of the same video on your timeline and want to export them all, there’s currently no naming scheme in place. You’re prompted to create a unique file name for each video every time. I’ve just posted a topic to inquire about implementing a naming scheme or at least allowing videos to be named after their markers, which would save a lot of time.

@TNT991 When it comes to audio we can select the underlying audio signal in Cubase. Unfortunately, there is no option to select the video format in Cubase. One size fits all - no matter which import format you´ve got, it will always be the same export format in Cubase.

Same problem here with Nuendo 13. Unfortunately, we can’t choose the bit rate for our video export either. But we do have the “Replace Audio In Video” feature, which is a batch export tool that keeps the same resolution, size, and format as the original. Not sure if it’s available in Cubase, but check the picture for reference.

Yes, we do have this feature! If this function keeps the original video format in Nuendo I don´t see why it shouldn´t do the same in Cubase as it is the exact same dialogue. Cool!!
If I´m not mistaken that feature has been around for years - I have totally forgotten about it… :face_with_peeking_eye:

Edit: I just checked in the manual - yes, it keeps the original video format!
