Choppy playback in 8.3

Don’t know what else to call it, playback stops and starts as of this morning. I worked the last two days in N8.3, everything worked perfectly. Didn’t shut the computer off last night and when I came in to work on a job today Nuendo plays back choppy. Opened the same session in N7 and it works fine. Absolutely nothing changed between yesterday and today and it’s just a voiceover, no plugins, no automation. I’m running Windows 10, relatively new to the Windows world so I’m not sure where to look. I tried both 32 and 64 bit, all levels of ASIO Guard, turned on and off “Audio Priority” and the “Steinberg Audio Power Scheme”, no difference.

Have you tried rebooting? Sounds random.

I did, no help. Agreed, very bizarre.

Take a look at the asio driver. Maybe it changed to another driver or changed the buffer size.

Thanks, I checked that, still set to Yamaha driver. Was able to get it to play normally by deactivating ASIO guard. I then uninstalled 8.3 and reinstalled it, everything now works as expected with ASIO guard on, hope it was just a weird install issue. Thanks!
