In Choral writing, generally dynamics are above the staff in a choral reduction score. However, in some published choral music, dynamics are above the staff for the Sopranos and Altos, but BELOW the staff for the Tenors and Basses. It would be great to see an automatic option for this in a future version of Dorico. Many thanks!
Dorico’s Choir reduction “instrument” is one instrument, so they would have to plumb the ability of each staff in multi-staff instruments to have different default dynamic positions…!
Alternatively, you could create a vocal staff for the upper voices, and then use a non-vocal staff for the lower voices, joining them with a bracket. (But not each barline!!!)
Or just Filter and Flip.
