Chord detection?!

Why is it so so so bad?! Logic Pro does a really really excellent job and we’re selling Cubase as doing the same, and it doesn’t…

Either I’m doing something very wrong, or there is a setting somewhere that makes it somehow, somehow better?!

I must be missing a point somewhere 'cos I’ve got Dom Sigalas banging on about how ‘Boom!’ one click and all your chords have been recognised.

Pardon me? Logic chord recognition can’t hold a candle to Cubase’s. You are doing something wrong.

Hard to tell cause you’re telling us nothing about your actions!
But:

  1. setup a chord track.
    and
  2. drag a midi part to the chord track (drum, monophonic bass or lead is not working oh course)
    or
  3. Drag an audio event to the chord track (Audio part is not working)

I find Cubase, mostly completely wrong. Extensions are usually wrong and it will add tones when they are not present. Not to mention position/voicings are completely static.
These are confirmed issues, and I am not a theory guy.
Best to use 3rd party like Chordie, or Scaler2, or others.

That said, sometimes Cubase can produce interesting results which may still work if your creating something new..
