Greetings! I’m writing some carillon music. The piece I’m writing uses a dyad that is Bb3 and F3 in the pedals (bass clef), notes which the particular instrument I have access to happens to have; however because carillons have such a wide swath of ranges id like to add a different option for that particular chord, right next to the primary one I’ve written as a parenthetical, so that the piece is adapted for smaller instruments. How would one achieve this?
Yes I had considered that, however it happens very often, and oftentimes at the ends of measures, and was hoping to avoid having single beat ossias all over.
Yes this is remarkably close to what I ended up figuring out! I just added the optional notes as a grace note, then hid the rests. Seemed to work great, can’t quite get it to add the parenthesis tho. But the score looks alright!
