Chord pads issue / questions

Hi everyone,

I have recently started experimenting with the Chord Pads. They are awesome! I have run into one issue, though, that I could use your advice with.

I have a section where there are 4 bars of chord pads, and then the notes end, but the chord still continues through he rest of the bars until a new chord is triggered. I would like to have that 4 bar tacet, but the previous chord just continues sounding even the the notes for the chord have ended…Any ideas on how I can stop this from happening? After the tacet there is a key change and the last chord from earlier runs right up to the key change and it doesn’t make it transistion well.

I know it is probably very basic, but I have tried different settings like Latch, First Stop, etc. but still get the sustaining chords even though the midi notes have stopped…

Thanks very much for your advice!

Regards,

KKSky

I think I have found the answer, although I will have to try it next time…

To stop a chord from continuing to play through a tacet (silence) section in Cubase 15 Pro, you need to insert an undefined chord event (marked with an “X”) at the exact position where the silence should begin.

Because Cubase chord tracks automatically sustain a chord until the next event is triggered, the “X” event functions explicitly as a “No Chord” or rest command, muting all playback until your next scheduled chord.
