Hi there,
Is there a setting to say something like “prefer text to be underneath chord symbols”?
Would be really helpful with this round for instance, but also in other usecases.
Thanks!

Not that I know of. You could create playing techniques. They seem to go below the chord symbols.

In my opinion, it would be nice to have more control over where text is placed (besides adjusting things manually.) I have the opposite issue at the moment, where I have text that I’d like to be located above tempo changes instead of below. (They are song titles in a medley.)
I think I’d like to have that as a setting within the paragraph styles.
That is a good idea!
I initially didn’t do it that way because I was afraid of that messing up the spacing between the systems. I dread moving staves around manually since that breaks all automatic spacing on that page.
Moving the text around manually wasn’t that much work, I thought, until I realised that the adjustments I made only changed the top staff. I understand why even though it wasn’t what I expected.
So I tried the way you suggested, and it should be the easiest way to deal with this. (It also got rid of the head-ache when things collided with rehearsal marks and became a huge vertical stack. I guess I could always add another (transparent) text item if I need to get more space.
Thanks!
(And sorry Hanhom for hijacking your thread. I thought I was only adding a voice of support to your feature request, not figuring out a new way to solve my problem.)
Just create a new paragraph style for those cases.
