I often encounter the same issue in large ensemble jazz scores regarding chords. I want chords the entire time for rhythm section players, and in one or all of the horns I want them for “all instruments” but not for the whole score and not necessarily just over slashes.
For example - if I have a a piece where there are multiple soloists, I want chord symbols over the slash regions, over specific hits that I’ve notated with a slash voice to look like rhythmic notation (a la finale) and/or over written/notated background parts that the instrumentalist would play if not soloing. Selecting “show for all instruments” would work but then it also displays chord symbols for the entire chart (not just the solo section) that it’s carrying over from the rhythm section which I do want on for the entire score.
Any way to show chords for all instruments but just within a specific region of measures? Or override the selection in the setup menu and force chords to be visible in a specific measure or set of measures?
