Chord symbols in certain bars, not in others

Hello, on certain instruments in my score such as my Tenor Sax part, I want the chord symbols showing in certain bars only. For example, I don’t want chord symbols in the Tenor part at the start which is a bass solo -

But I do want chord symbols in the Tenor part for the Tenor solo section -

How would I most easily achieve this?

Cheers,
Cal

I believe what you want are Chord symbol regions. See the online help: https://www.steinberg.help/r/dorico-pro/5.1/en/dorico/topics/write_mode/write_mode_notations_input/write_mode_chord_symbols_regions_inputting_t.html

Cool thankyou. Where should I start from here? Go and disable the Tenor part to see chord symbols in part setup, then go to the sections where I want the chord symbols and input them according to the intructions you sent? I’m a little confused still about inputting the chord symbol regions, I use that process normally to input symbols, I’ll select the bar I want the symbol, then use the popup, how is the region process different?

Actually no big deal. I’m just going through in engrave mode and setting the chord symbols I don’t want parts to see as hidden.

Highlight the notes (and/or rests) of the area you want to show chords. Press Shift-Q then reg. Done.
