chord track question

Hi Folks,

Is it possible for the chord track to analyse chords from another midi file and then translate them on to the chord track? Say i play a piano chord progression on another channel can i then somehow move those over to the chord track or atleast get the chord track to identify the chords?

Hi,

Yes, you can do so. Not fully automatically, you have to select the MIDI Notes you want to detect the chord from, so you have to do it one by one.

Thanks Martin, do you mean highlighting a triad (for example) and then using the ‘make chords’ button? It never seems to work for me ( Although i always try with a full progression - for example 4 bars of chords - then - Make chord symbols and it doesn’t do anything).
