Two questions about the chorder (MIDI insert)

is it possible to get to select layers with anything other than velocity, ie; key switches, CC messages, ect…
If not, would I be able to set something up in the logical editor?
The trouble with velocity is its a bit random (for my playing at least) plus playing at lower velocitys means lower volume. I could deactivate the velocity on the vst but then I’ll sacrifice dynamics. -
in the manual it’s says that I can program chords using the mouse?
I can’t for the life of me figure this out, any suggestions?
