This is indeed a bit tricky, and can’t be solved using Cubase’s built-in tools alone. Since the Chord Pad Remote Control only accepts MIDI inputs, but not MIDI tracks as input signal, you have to work with Virtual MIDI (e.g. loopBe1).
The principle is as follows:
First, you have a MIDI track. MIDI input: your keyboard, MIDI output: Virtual MIDI output XY.
The MIDI track receives data from your keyboard (for the yellow keys) and forwards it, along with the MIDI events you recorded on the track (for the blue keys), to the virtual MIDI output. Think of it like a MIDI cable with two ends. The other end, the virtual MIDI input, sends the data to the Chord Pad, controlling the blue and yellow keys. The Chord Pad’s output then sends the data to the instrument track, where it triggers the sound generator.
I guess I understood and will try that when I’m quiet relaxed…I’m not too good in MIDI at all…but I worked with “virtual MIDI in and outputs” in VSTlive…
