In my current project I have the usual Clarinetist doubling on both Bb and A clarinet. However, when I add an instrument, the different clarinet transpositions don’t show up (pic 1). Strangely enough, when I open a previous project, they do show up (pic 2).
What’s happening and how can I solve this?
Check the options on the Staves and Systems page of Layout Options.

All options regarding displaying the instrument pitch/transposition are on, and the other clarinets still don’t display when I add a new instrument.
I think Daniel might have misunderstood your question. Did you try to restart Dorico and possibly the computer?

The same happens for Trumpet, Trombone and Horn (but not French Horn).
Also Singers > Tenor, and Strings > Double Bass.
Weird, resetting everything with the Library Manager didn’t help.

Very strange. It’s not just the Clarinet that won’t show the variations, the same is true for some Brass Instruments - Trumpet and Horn for example.
I think, as @jesele stated, that somehow the file is corrupted. Can you setup up the instruments properly in a new project and, if so, copy and paste the music from the other file?

Or import the flows. Then import the library settings with the Library manager. Will lose the title pages, though. Edit: See next post about Page template sets.

By exporting Flows, User Settings, the Library and Page Template sets I was able to rebuild the file so that the instrument selection process was correct. Apologies, I won’t post it here because not only do I not have the Beethoven font, there’s also a curious NP setup and a lot of bespoke editing. It’s a large file and it really does need user input to make to make sure things are as they should be . However, if @yentltijssens were to go down that road, I think they might get the results they need.
I ended up following your advice. A pity that it took quite a bit of extra work to make it look exactly like it was, but I’m happy that I managed to fix it.

I had the same problem, also affecting trumpets, horns and clarinets — no transposition key options showing. Nothing I tried fixed it. In the end I started a new project and copied/pasted everything over but by bit.
My only thought is that my project originated as an XML import — so I wonder if something got corrupted along the way. I tried reexporting and reimporting but the same problem appeared each time…
Many times, when one imports an XML file, one must go through Change Instruments for each instrument to replace the XML instrument with an equivalent Dorico instrument of the same type.
Yes, I’m aware of that – it’s the first thing I do after importing an XML file. In this case, it unfortunately had no effect. Even when I tried to add new instruments, the same problem came up – no transposition keys listed for clarinets, horns, trumpets. No problems in a new file, so it must be something to do with the XML.
