Clean delete of measures mid-song

I have a large song project I’ve been working on for a client. The client has requested I delete 16 bars in the middle of the song. The piece has time signature changes and tempo changes within that 16 bars, and lots of tracks (midi and audio). Is there a clean way for me to highlight all 16 bars and remove all 16 bars? or do I need to do some careful surgery to accomplish this?

How I would do this:
Save the project under a new name. This is the working project.
Set the locators to the section to be deleted.
Use, I think it’s called “Split Loop”.
Invert the locators so that play back will skip that section.
Does it sound OK?
If it does, I reset the locators and use “Delete Time”, I think it’s called. (Doing this from memory - I can’t launch Cubase to check.)
Does it still sound OK? You may have to do some editing to smooth over changes.

I’m sure others will have a smoother, surer, method, but I was here first!

Please take a Look at the Arranger Track in cubase. These track let you re arrange your Song. That is what i do in these case.

what @Googly_Croft said. First thing to do - save your project under a new name,just in case.
If Delete Time doesn’t do the trick, try Process Bars

Using the arranger track like @Herbert_Schmitt suggested is also solid advice. This way you’ll hear if there are pickups or other parts that need attention if you skip 16 bars. Might even work to send out the final version to your client if there are no parts that need to be adressed.

One benefit with arranger tracks is that you don’t have to delete anything, so your original thoughts and and arrangements are preserved.

Thanks for all the great solutions. For me case I used “Delete Time” - my music had pickups on the vocals and other instruments that needed to bleed between sections. I look forward to playing with the Arranger tracks on situations where that makes sense

Googly suggested Delete Time, first. I merely added another method that has proven to be helpful if there are a lot of tempo and/or signature changes in a project.
