Click adjustment?

Hello guys,

So here’s the question: I have created a click track for a song that was recorded in 1977. At first, the click is with the music. Soon afterwards, the tempo for the music starts to move from the click.

What would be the best way, if possible, to get both to lock in?

Thanks.
Mark

You can map the tempo of the original track. Easy Peasy. Then put that into your Tempo track.

Neoeqplease,
Thanks brother for the timely reply and help. I’ve never done this before, but I followed your tips and it worked.

I have one more question if you don’t mind…please.

Can I export the tempo track as a .wav so it can be sent to the other musicians
who are in other places?
Thanks Neoeqplease.

If you assign a MIDI track and create clicks to follow the tempo, you can then render that as an audio track and send it off. Pick a somewhat neutral but “high” sound as the click. I’ve done that a few times. Just make sure that track starts at the very beginning of your session, and that the musicians also align it to the start of their DAW session. When they are ready to send you audio tracks, have them render their audio takes from the beginning of their DAW session, before sending them in, so you can drag and drop them into your session, already lined up.

Cheers and good luck!

Thanks for the help once again. I’ll give this a go and cross my fingers.
Regards.

Hi Neoqplease,
I’ve created a Midi track, but how do I create clicks to follow the tempo, please?

Thanks.
Mark

Either way should work for you. The click track will follow your tempo track.

The click track will be the default click sound, if you want something fancier, you’d assign the MIDI click track to a synth or sampler.

Cheers.

Thanks again for you help.
