I hear keyboard clicks instead of proper sounds when high registers (C5, C6) are played. This ruins my piano audio files. How do I get rid of them? Is it even possible?
Nobody answered so I asked Chatgpt and he adviced me to use Sforzando/Salamander GrandPiano VST3 because it doesn’t have keyclicks in high registers. Works well for me. However I haven’t found out how I can keep the settings from project to project so I have to do everything from scratch all the time, from chosing the Salamander template, selecting Sforzando as VST, dragging the Salamander instrument to the Sforzando window and checking the Track Inspector. This is way to complicated. I have seen some setting where I can specify Salamander as my piano instrument but I can’t find it now. Please help!
I didn’t noticed any “clicks” with Etude Elements in this or any other ranges. Can you make a screen/audio recording showing us what you hear?
Hi @ragnar.hellspong, in this Video tutorial series (with 17 videos, new videos coming up probably) you will find all your answers (in particular in videos #4, #9 and #10):
Etude Elements goes up to C7 for me (C3 being Middle C), and makes a piano sound, not a click, for all notes that play.
Hello benwiggy,
I enclose a .mxl file of Squeeze Me which with the default Halion Sonic
piano exhibits the clicks in bars 37 to 48 and also in later bars. I
have tried lots of things to get rid of the clicks but to no avail.
Do you know how to do it? When I changed to Sforzato and the Salamander
Grand Piano fonts the click disappeared.
Kind regards

It might be more useful for me to see the Dorico project file that has the problem.
I can’t hear anything wrong. The only slightly odd bit in perhaps bar 46, where it looks like you manually adjusted the note velocity, and there’s a bit more key noise than actual string note.
Can you actually play those notes on the keyboard in the HALion VST or in the standalone HALion app with a MIDI keyboard?
Strange that you cannot hear it, but I agree that bar 46 is the worst.
Could be that I tried to change the velocity there. Anyway, with
Sforzando and Salamander Grand Piano I no longer have a problem.
