"close gaps (crossfade)" from left to right?

Hi all.

When using the “close gaps (crossfade)” on audioevents, it always closes gaps by resizing the left edge of the right event towards the right side of the left event.

I would find it very valuable to be able to close audio gaps by resizing the left audio event towards the right as well.
I´m coming from Logic where you can do this and I used it a lot.
Any Ideas of workaround?

select the events from the left

1-2-3-4 (ie; just select sample 2-3)
