This happened twice this evening leaving EmVoice screens as well as a blank Strum panel the would not close. (I suspect Strum is what is causing the problem.)
Even shutting down the Audio Engine in Task Manager does not cause enough of a reset that I can restart Dorico before restarting my machine.
Hi Derrek, thanks for the data. There are no crash dumps contained, so it is not a crashing issue, but from the audio engine logs it seems to me that the audio engine somehow must get deadlocked while unloading the Strum plug-in.
In order to find out more, could you please get the utility Process Explorer and then take a mini dump of both, Dorico and the VSTAudioEngine process after closing that project which uses Strum? Thank you very much.
Thanks for the data, Derrek.
But unfortunately it does not bring me any further. Dorico is trying to close down and waits for a response from the audio engine. The audio engine on the other hand is just idling, pretending having to do nothing. And Strum2 and EMvoice are still loaded and not anywhere near of bing destructed. And I don’t know what to tell further or what advice to give. I would prefer having a remotes screen sharing session with you, but don’t know how reproducible it is with you.
Every time I try to close it, I have to restart the computer. I figure I may just have to abandon using Strum for the guitar sound and find a replacement that is compatible.
I’ll removing Strum from the VST queue and see if that makes the file stable.
Thanks for your help.
