Cloud storage to store all settings for all Steinberg softwares

This is feature which can be applied to all future Steinberg software’s.

If a user want to change their PC (buy new PC), then migrating all the music production softwares and its settings and files to the new PC is a daunting task.
If Steinberg could have a cloud storage where each users settings (for Cubase and all the VST instruments and plugins) can be stored, this way on the new PC, once all the tools are installed, the personalized settings and other saved files (from VST instruments and plugins) can be retrieved.
(Android phones have this feature, when you sign-in to your new android phone, it know what all to download with all the settings you had on your previous phone)

Since VST is developed by Steinberg, you guys can think about incorporating this options in your future version of API’s also, that way all the VST instrument and VST Plugin creators can integrate a similar option to save their software user settings and files to either Steinberg cloud or their cloud storage.

Windows? Just set up OneDrive and sync your “%APPDATA%\Steinberg” folder.
This is neither a Steinberg nor a Cubase issue.

Personally I don’t want to pay more to make up for Steinberg paying for server storage and software. And if they aren’t hosting the data then I guess I agree with MrSoundman that there are other options, like OneDrive or any of the other sync solutions.

That won’t sync plug-in presets, i.e., the VST3 Presets folder.

They are in your user docs folder which is automatically synced by OneDrive

It’s not possible to sync the AppData directory to OneDrive.-

This would be a great feature-.

If you are not backing up your data, no amount of cloud (just a term for “someone else’s computer”) will save you.

I think it is time more people inherently started to distrust “Cloud” services, anything you send to such a service is now outside your control, you cannot delete it or control access rights any more. I will place very good money on just about 100% of all such data / information being mined, sold as part of a data set, used to identify you / your device(s) or all three.

If you rely on your data in any meaningful way - you need to keep it secure (oh and of course, just uploading it to Google or Microsoft and Mega, or whoever in no way guarantees this, their terms of service are explicit about this).

Do not trade “convenience” for thinking, your rights, your personal information lots more spam emails and calls.
