Upgraded from 6.5 to 7 and I noticed that all my CMC settings have not been copied from the older version. Is there a way to do that, short of manually re-configuring everything?
hi, similar question, i just updated from Cubase 7 to 7.5, and the same thing…none of my CMC settings were passed over. ive custom assigned a heap of the functions across 4 of the CMC units, surely i dont have to re-assign them all again manually? Steinberg these are your own product! and you dont even address this issue for your own units when updating Cubase and make it easier for your users?
ok i found it. the settings for the CMC function button assignments are in the file:
Defaults.xml
it is in:
c:\Users\AUDIO\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase 7_64\
(you need to show hidden/systems files in Windows to find the folders)
so copy this over to your folder for Cubase 7.5 inside:
c:\Users\AUDIO\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase 7.5_64\
whilst your at it you can copy the Key Commands.xml file over as well and get your key commands across, as well as your Panels and Presets.
(i dont recommend copying all the xml files over, as some really need to be generated by Cubase 7.5 and youre likely to get crashes if you do all of them)
