I’ve done some searching on the forum but couldn’t find anything regarding this, apart from a post from 2019 that unfortunately didn’t provide a solution to my problem.
In certain chords, I’m getting collisions between rhythm dots and ties
and this happens even though I have selected the option to start ties after the dots (Engraving options->ties->advanced options->avoiding collisions->after rhytms dot)
Is there a global setting or solution to fix this so I don’t have to manually adjust them all individually?
Welcome to the forum. I would use the Library Manager to see how the Engraving Options in this document differ from Factory defaults, and then try resetting some relevant options. Dorico certainly doesn’t do this with default options, as jesele shows.
Thanks @jesele, with these settings the problem does indeed disappear for those specific chords. The issue is that my publisher won’t accept the “all between noteheads” option for chords where there are no collisions with rhythm dots… I’m afraid I’ll just have to adjust those chords manually. To @benwiggy: you’re right, but the point remains the same. I have a set of parameters imposed by the publisher. I’ll try to do some experiments anyway, thanks
Just curious, how does your publisher want to deal with the ties and augmentation dots? Do they want the dot to break the line or start after it? Can you change the shape of the line? Or, change the placement of the dots? Do they have a style sheet or have examples of what they prefer? (Personally, I think they are giving you an almost impossible task — especially if you have to guess!)

The problem isn’t with the ties, but with the inability to vertically adjust the rhythm dots… By default, they are way too high compared to the standards of other software. Clearly, an editor accustomed to working with Sibelius and Finale for decades cannot accept having to modify all tie specifications due to a limitation in Dorico…
That explains the problem a little more clearly.
Dorico automatically moves the dots of notes that are a 2nd apart so that they are spaced within adjacent spaces — vis. so that the dots are not obscured by staff or ledger lines. With a chord cluster like the one shown, the dots are appropriately placed (although it is a bit awkward in this case). The problem would still exist if all the dots were moved down a space, as this would move that collision to the bottom. So, I see your point.
As there are no ledger lines in play at the top, one might want to move the uppermost dot downward to avoid the tie. (Personally, I don’t think that’s a good look but I’m not the publisher or an expert!)
It looks to me like it will require individual edits. Sorry. Hopefully someone will have a better workaround.
