i went to prefs and set “random color” for new tracks however the tracks are always the same color? What am i doing wrong here.
You are doing nothing wrong…
It is a known issue that is said to be resolved in the upcoming 7.0.3 Cubase version…
Until then you have to change the color “by hand” I am afraid…
