It’s a shame I can’t put a colored staff in the Writing tab. It would help to find your way around. In terms of engraving too, as is sometimes done in contemporary music. It seems to me that the discussion started with Dorico version 3.1. Can we look forward to it?
I’m aware of red staves in medieval music, but coloured staves in contemporary music is a new one on me. Is there yet a convention for their significance?
One place where coloured staff lines is often used is in the Colourstrings method:
Lucky him!
That said, many elements can be colored in Dorico. It’s possible to find a way to make elements stand out.
Hello,
not trying to mute you but please be kind and try keeping a friendly tone in this forum. Being cynical will not help to get people interested.
We all have wishes and imaginations where the software can be further improved or extended. It’s fair and very helpful if we call out for this. In a productive and positive environment we will get work done better.
I don’t understand what you’re saying. Daniel’s reply was a little humorous, I think, and I replied in the same tone. Maybe it’s the translation, or maybe you just don’t read humor. It’s true, though, that colors can be useful in teaching, which is useful at any age.
Sorry, but I find that priests or inspectors of propriety, like you at the moment, sometimes push a fort. It’s all harmless and perfectly innocent. I’ve been talking to Daniel for over 10 years, since Sibelius 2 or 3, and he knows he has my respect and consideration. You’ve come to the wrong place.
This site has many users for whom English is not their first language. Humour generally does not translate well (or does so in unexpected ways) and is best avoided.
(As a native English speaker, I detected no humour in Daniel’s reply - just useful information)
Okay, Janus, I’ve got it. No more humor via Google.
That said, the comment was about my answers and remains amply exaggerated.
Hi mute, I am sorry, I really didn’t catch any humour, so it’s probably me - being alien to the language (which is not my first one…)
Ok, k_b, no problem and I shake your hand cordially. Janus is right about the humor, and it’s all circumstantial. It has to be said, too, that I’m a bit sensitive, maybe too much so, to moral surveillance, which is also a turn-off. Sorry for the misunderstanding if that wasn’t your intention.
Let’s forget about it and get back to the subject.
+1, this would be so useful when writing giant scores!
