Combining Seperate Percussion Staves into One Player

How do I combine percussion staves in Dorico 5 so that I can beam across them when they can’t be combined into one kit? Grid percussion won’t work because I can’t combine a 5-line staff and single line staves into one kit, and I need a two-line staff above a 5-line staff with notes beamed between them. Image attatched here as an example.

If they are hold by the same player it should work.

How were you able to do that? Dragging them into the same player results in this for me:

There’s no option to seperate the staves.

You can untick allow instrument changes in Library->Layout Options->Players or do it in Galley Wiew.

Maybe this works for you?

This did work to seperate staves, but it still won’t properly beam together even though the percussion kit and Marimba are part of the same player.

Do you use M and N to cross staff?

Jesper

Thanks for the suggestion - this still doesn’t work though. Pressing N on the lower staff makes the note mysteriously disappear, and M on the upper staves does nothing.

Maybe you need to reset beaming first.

The same effect still applies. On the upper staff, the cross staff option doesn’t even appear in the right click menu.

You have like this?

Have to cook some food right now.

The percussion is the kit containing both the tam-tam and wood block. If I seperate the kit, I got it to cross staves on some occasions but it is still finnicky and makes a half beam into the rest. Either way, I need the two-line staff instead of seperate staves for the two.

Ah, I see, not sure it’s possible with a kit.

I should have read more carefully. Sorry.
