i’m new to wavelab. I need a solid mastering solution. I almost bought 9 pro but I see it’s not compatable with mac osx 10.8.5? Is wavelab 8 compatable with 10.8.5?

You can try the Wavelab 9 version under OSX 10.8.5 but we will not give support for problems which may occur on that OSX version.
The Wabelab 8.x version is officially compatible with OSX 10.8.5.
