Complex repeat structure

Is there an easy way to get this to play back?

This is the total structure of the movement: AAB(1st ending in example)B(2nd ending in example)C(Trio: 2/4 section in example)CDD[da Capo]AB(3rd ending in example).
I do understand how to avoid the repeat of A in the Da Capo; what I don’t get is how to jump to the notated 2nd ending after the second time through B. I know it’s possible to write a forward DS, or make the 2/4 section into a coda, but don’t know how to limit the forward DS (to the 2nd ending as notated) to the repeat of B. Visually what is written in the example is clear; how do I get Dorico to understand it?

Hi, @wconable. I hope I understand your needs. Here a possible workflow:

  • set the repeats like this in Engrave mode, selecting the numbers (this will take care of the right jumps):

  • put a Fine and a D.C. al Fine at the appropriate positions (see the attachment lines: you need to create the items on the barlines). You can hide them if desired or customise their text with the Properties Panel:

It’s perfect. I’ll have to study it for a while to understand why it works, but it works. I did find that setting the 2nd ending to 2x played for segment seemed to be unnecessary; the solution worked with and without that detail.
