Complex Tuplets

Hello,

Trying to create a 3:5 1/8th note tuplet in a 5/16 measure, which will then metrically modulate into the 11/8 measure, where the triplet 1/8th of the 5/16 will equal the duple 1/8th of the 11/8. For whatever reason, I am not able to do so. I think I’ve got my math correct…

Thanks for the help!

Best,
Daniel

Welcome to the forum, Daniel. I’m by no means the most arithmetically sound person when it comes to tuplets like this, but is the problem that you’re trying to create 3 8th notes in the time of 5 16th notes? If so, you’ll need to create a 6:5 tuplet, because of course three 8ths don’t fit in 5/16 (you’re one 16th short). But if you create a 6:5 tuplet you can then put three 8ths inside that tuplet.

If this isn’t what you mean, perhaps you could sketch on paper the result you’re looking for and attach a picture, and then we could advise the best way to achieve it?
