macOS Catalina 10.15.6 computer fans run at full capacity when editing a single file in the editor. There was nothing like this in Adobe Audition.

Something else is going on. What EXACTLY are you doing in editing? Never had this problem with MAC.
Have you looked at your Activity Monitor to see what is active? Sounds like you are running some processes in the background that you don’t know are running like malware checking software. FWIW

Thanks for the answer! I don’t have malware checking software. The problem is observed during normal file editing (Listening to one file and deleting some fragments). The processor loads software heavily: WaveLab Pro 10.0.40

Previously I used Adobe Audition, there is no such problem in it.

It’s the same here on my Macbook Pro 2015. Especially when running at the internal retina monitor. Used to be even worse on Cubase but that got way better so I guess the GUI could be enhanced. Just scrolling the waveform heat things up
