Condensing Change Mid-Page

Hello!

I was wondering, is it possible to have an instrument change the staff that it is condensed on mid-page?

Here is a quick reference for what I’m talking about from Suite of Old American Dances (look at the 3rd and 4th bars):

No, the instrument distribution always stays the same throughout a system. To be honest I also find this example very confusing to read and not necessarily something you should strive to emulate.
