Is there a better way to deal with Condensing changes?
As is, condensing change takes affect on next system. This can make a tedious job in situations where I want to have the change on the start of a system
At least, could it be easier to move condense changes around (it seems impossible now)? (FR)
Where a condensing change takes effect depends on which settings you change. If you change the actual condensing, e.g. by enabling or resetting manual condensing, then of course it cannot take effect midway through the system if the resulting condensing requires a change of staff assignment.
You can cut and paste condensing changes, so although you cannot move them in Engrave mode, you should be able to move them in Write mode in that way.
But it could take affect on the systembreak before? That would be so helpful
Ah, yes that helps
Same with move in write
Other issue: When I have a layout where all staves are condensed, it’s not possible to select it and paste/make a condensing change.
I believe that you can select any object (not just notes) to apply a Condensing Change. Is there anything else you can select?
If not, another thought: can you turn condensing off, select a note, turn it back on again, and then apply a change? (i.e does the note stay selected “behind” the condensing?)
@GeirSol
You can always select a barline to paste your Condensing change, even if all instruments are condensed in that score.
If the Condensing Change is to be moved to nearby bars, I prefer to use the moving shortcuts (Alt(Option)+left or right arrow keys), setting the grid resolution to the value of the bar (whole note for a 4/4 bar, for example) so I have less clicks to move the Condensing Change.
Yes, that works!
I can’t select any notes in condensed in write, and I needed write to cut/paste/move a condensing change.
I mean even dynamics etc: any selectable object at the rhythmic position where you want the change.
When condensed all is unselectable
Fair enough. The only other thing I can think of is to turn condensing off so that you can add the condensing change in.
