Hi All,
First post after about a year and a half with Dorico, so go easy on me! I have a very simple band transcription that is giving me trouble with condensing on the first page.
There are several condensing groups that either have one active player or no active players on the first page. I am able to condense one group, but when I condense a second group, the first reverts to its un-condensed state. I tried both manual condensing changes and by toggling the “inactive players button” and both give the same results.
I haven’t encountered this problem in any other situations, so I’m assuming it has something to do with the fact that it’s on the first page? Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, @andrew.ardizzoia!
I’m not entirely sure I understand what you want exactly in terms of condensing, but perhaps try this Notation Option (in your project it’s set to “do not condense”, which prevents some empty staves to condense). If the result is good for you, you might also try to remove the condensing change in bar 1, and maybe also the condensing groups.
If it doesn’t help, please feel free to describe exactly how you want the first page to look like.
Thank you! I’ll try this out.
To be clear, I want all my condensing groups to appear as condensed on the first page, even if the staves are empty.
What I’m encountering now is that any time I make a manual condensing change, Dorico undoes the previous condensing change. I’m sure this is something I’m doing wrong, but it’s driving me bananas.
@charles_piano Thank you! The notation setting change fixed the problem with condensing empty staves!
